Conprofe's Live 5-Axis Dental Machining Debut at Expodental 2026

From March 11–13, 2026, Conprofe, represented by its authorized exclusive European distributor CAD SPACE DENTAL, participated in the 18th edition of Expodental in Madrid. The exhibition, held at IFEMA, provided a platform to present the technical capabilities of the Conprofe Lightweight Vertical 5-Axis Machining Center AW-100 to dental technology professionals across Europe and beyond.

Expodental is recognized as the leading international trade fair for dental equipment, supplies, and services in Spain and Southern Europe. Organized biennially by IFEMA in collaboration with Fenin, the 2026 edition marked the event’s 18th consecutive occurrence under the theme “The Road to Dental Innovation”. This year’s exhibition featured over 400 direct exhibitors, including approximately 160 international companies, and attracted more than 30,000 professional visitors. For Conprofe, the event served as an opportunity to engage with industry peers and demonstrate how the Conprofe AW-100 addresses specific manufacturing challenges within the dental sector.

At Hall 8C23, CAD SPACE DENTAL, Conprofe’s exclusive European distributor, showcased the Conprofe Lightweight Vertical 5-Axis Machining Center AW-100, a flagship machine tool authorized for sale across the European Union. To maximize visibility and reinforce brand presence, the distributor deployed large-format digital advertising screens throughout the exhibition venue. Before entering the hall, attendees could clearly view the AW-100's appearance design and delivery-related information, via these prominent displays. The AW-100 is engineered with a grey cast iron base structure, delivering industrial-grade rigidity, vibration damping, and thermal stability required for precision machining of medical parts. Despite its robust construction, the AW-100 maintains a compact footprint and weighs only 1,000kg, making it suitable for laboratories and production facilities where space is limited.

Material flexibility is a defining advantage of the AW-100. The system is fully optimized to process advanced materials commonly specified in modern dental and medical implantology, including various metals, high-performance ceramics, and engineering plastics.



In one documented application, the AW-100 has been used for machining glass-ceramic restoration crowns. By leveraging the machine’s integrated concealed tool magazine—which eliminates the need for in-cycle tool changes—operators achieved a reduction in cycle time from 15 minutes to 10 minutes per part. This represents a 33% increase in throughput, accomplished without compromising surface quality. Finished products exhibited a smooth, defect-free surface finish with no edge chipping or micro-fractures, translating to reduced post-processing requirements and higher yield rates for dental labs and machining subcontractors.

With metal applications representing a key focus for CAD SPACE DENTAL, the AW-100 demonstrates particular strength in titanium alloy machining—a material widely used for its biocompatibility and mechanical properties but challenging to process due to its low thermal conductivity and work-hardening characteristics. In this regard, the AW-100 has achieved measurable efficiency gains when machining titanium parts: cycle time for titanium abutments was reduced by 20%, while Malo bridge production saw a 30% reduction in cycle time. These improvements are attributed to the machine’s rigid construction, optimized tool paths, and stable cutting dynamics, which enable consistent material removal rates while maintaining dimensional accuracy and surface integrity.

For dental laboratories, med-tech manufacturers, and subcontractors evaluating five-axis machining capabilities, the AW-100 offers a combination of compact dimensions, material flexibility, and documented throughput improvements. Its ability to transition between material types—from titanium alloys to glass ceramics and polymers—supports both high-mix and patient-specific production workflows.
